Mother Nature is crying about one of her most beautiful creations, the glaciers of this world. On this picture you can see streams of water flowing down from the melting ice in the heat of the August sun. The glaciers of the Alps lose up to 100ft of their length in the summer months and it is a question of time until they disappear completely.
Location is Nationalpark Hohe Tauern in Austria, altitude about 9000ft.

Is accelerated retreat from mans manipulations. Or a process of nature, between glaciations.?

I´m not sure about that. The glaciers had their maximum in about 1850, since then they have been melting. At a time where nobody was talking about global warming. Fact is that these masses of water are filling the oceans what will cause serious troubles in the costal regions.

Oh so true so true. On the subject of global warming. I"m not sure puny little man has an impact.! One study is always gainsaying another. Pollution effects compared to catastrophic volcanic action. To me doesn't add up. That is mans vanity. A great altercation of the population map is on its way. As we have these warmer days. The commonness of cross cultural flood myths. Shows that mankind has before weathered changes in clime, such as this. Seems tribal memories don't forget. The recording of history is still in infancy. Compared with the timescales Of glaciation and or geology.
