The Old Castle by Burtn The Old Castle by Burtn
Lonesome old castle ruin in Austria. How might the place have looked like in medieval times?
Burgruine Thürndl, Salzburg (Austria)

If the link R-TDesigns led us to is accurate, I think it would have a hell of a place. But it is kind of nice seeing Nature take over again.

:)A few years ago this ruin was hidden in deep forest and nobody did notice it, until they set it free and stabilised the walls. It is nice to see but we are living in cities that are as old or older than this castle with thousands of old buildings.

Hi:wave:, Gutrat is a few miles north of this one and quite well known. Thanks for the link though, time to visit this castle too.

The topgraphy of the ground seems fairly unique. I've never seen a castle built on a slope like that before. Thank you so much for the link.

Wow, that's awesome. If only those walls could talk. Imagine the stories they would tell.

... ... und wieviel von den
Grundmauern inzwischen komplett abgetragen und verfallen sind. =)

Well it's not built on a very large ridge so I'd bet it was a tower to be used as a lookout/defensive position or maybe for signals of some sort.

You are right, is was part of a bigger construction, on the corner of a city wall. But it was big enough that people could live in it.
