This is an experimental picture I did for a friend to show how to do long exposure with a cheap camera without manual settings. I fixed an nd-8 filter and a cpl-filter with 40,5mm diameter with tape on the lens and chose a night scene program. The result was 4 seconds exposure and a pretty nice picture I think.

:D Thank you, nice idea. Itīs an intersting effect how you got the background blurred.

I use glaussian blur and then use the blur tool to blend it in with the foreground. I do it to all my manips. I like the effect it gives. Although I have seen it done better by others, one day I'll get it......hopefully, lol.

I see, this feature requires careful use. It seems to create a kind of 3D effect.

Yes, my shutter will go soon, I am up to 58,000 releases (I have been lucky - average is about 50,000) - and I can't afford a new one

Hmm...Did you think about a service? I had the shutter-unit exchanged on my old E-1(after almost 200,000 releases). It took less than 1 hour and didnīt cost as much as an even cheap camera.

I was told it would be too expensive - but thanks for that I'll check it out :-)

I don't speak camera, but I think that anything electronic that has to be taped is shot, right?

Lovely shot, though. The settting is nice. I'd love to go there.
