A lake that was made bigger by a dam more than 80 years ago. At low waterlevel you still can see the trees that were growing then. I tried to upload this image a few days ago but somehow it didn`t show, so here it is again. Dachstein, Austria
Excellent eye for composition in this shot. The shape that the gravel and rocks make, points up. The two tree stumps form an implicit directional line towards the receding treeline, which then goes off into the background into the vanishing point.
For a still background shot, it keeps the eye moving across most parts very fluidly. And there's a good balance and contrast in light and dark values.
