Now have a look at the highest point of Austria. It is mount Großglockner(3798m/12.420ft), the one that hides his top in the clouds. Global warming makes the glaciers fade quickly. Can you imagine this magnificent scenery without ice?

it's soooooooooooooooooooooo beautiful!! thanks for sharing!!! it's so sad the glaciers are vanishing... I see the Aletsch in Switzerland getting smaller every year, it's kindda depressing...

awesome shot, the weather was quite interesting!!

:DThanx so much! It is sad to see the glaciers fade, but they do since 1860. I don´t think we can stop that in any way..

this is so beautiful! I do try not to imagine a world affected by more global warming. On very hot summer days, I wonder about all the places in warmer climes, that would become unbearable and uninhabitable. Maybe if persons who ignore the seriousness of the problem would take note if their precious real estate would become less valuable.

I was looking at all the different textures, how the light plays a huge part of the beauty. That is a mud slide? I bet it was cold!

:D It is not a mudslide, it´s a glacier. It is more than 6 miles long and it loses about 60ft each year due to global warming.

It's most amazing to climb down to that glacier in summer, feels like suddenly stepping from one season right into another. :) Great picture, it truly shows the beauty of Großglockner.
